Utilising 3rd Party Qualification to Demonstrate Quality

For a sensitive site in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the edge of a local settlement plan, a careful and responsive design process was key to securing planning for a high performing contemporary home for our Clients.

The strategy for the application allowed us to undertake third party qualification on the quality of the design to reassure the Local Planning authority, demonstrating that the proposal merits “outstanding” design.

This was undertaken with the Design Review Panel and was an important part of securing the consent. This peer review demonstrated our consideration for site character and context, design strategies, dwelling provisions, landscape, sustainable design and accessibility.

As a result of this careful design process and review, we have been able to create a unique, high quality, sustainable and accessible design for our Client, taking full advantage of the incredible views from the sloping site across the North Wessex Downs.
