Offsite Architects of the Year Finalist 2024
Following completion of our student housing project on Southampton High Street with Stelling Properties and Unilife, we are pleased to see the project leading to OB Architecture making the shortlist for Offsite Architects of the Year as part of the Offsite Awards.
We always look for innovative ways to bring offsite sustainable construction into our projects, and are excited to see this construction method being utilised in more projects – including one which is moving to site by the end of this month.
At OB Architecture, Toby Wincer (RIBA) has promoted offsite construction for over 12 years exploring and utilising many methods of offsite construction but interrogating its appropriateness in the process rather than trying to shoe-horn it in where it’s not appropriate or supported. He says:
The precision of modular systems and its construction add a rigour and order to good design. It is then finessing this and the aesthetic detailing, ensuring it remains authentic to its system, but also embodies and embraces characteristics from its setting and local built environment often created through traditional methods of construction. This conscious marriage between the two yields the success behind this project and his past offsite projects.
Toby will be attending the awards ceremony and Off Site expo up in Coventry – get in touch if you will be attending too as we are always keen to collaborate on projects to bring them to realisation in the best construction route possible.
