Award winning sustainable home in Hampshire

Sailor’s House, an environmentally responsible home in a quiet coastal town, was crowned the winner of the ‘Best use of smart technology’ at the British Home Awards 2022.

The house benefits from a fully bespoke integrated home automation system, designed and installed by the client. The system controls all functions of the house, from managing the internal temperature by controlling the solar shades to distributing the electricity generated from the photovoltaic panels hidden within the profile of the roof.

Designed to passivehaus standards, it not only has a highly efficient fabric but also generates enough electricity to run the house with excess fed back into the national grid.
