A planning application has been submitted for Kind Alfred Place, a replacement 2-storey dwelling in Winchester.
Set at the junction of Saxon Road and King Alfred Place, within the Winchester Conservation Area, the site is highly visible from 3 directions and forms a distinctive point of reference amongst the prevailing Victorian terrace typology of Hyde. Furthermore, it lies within the setting of Hyde Gatehouse, an important Grade I Listed Heritage Asset.
The proposal looks to respond to the various conditions around the site with a bold but reactive form that creates a dialogue with the different streets and heritage assets that surround the site.
